Play Chandelier is an interactive installation in collaboration with aeolab and SPARKS for Google's Zeitgeist '14 Conference. The multi-device showpiece integrates web services, custom interfaces, and distributed mobile device communication into a single synchronized experience.
I was contacted by aeolab to help develop the user-facing interface for music selection and the display of music progress. This was developed as a tablet application that users could use to select songs and an accompanying web interface displayed on a screen for feedback.
The "chandelier" allows users to choose music tracks from the Google Play Music store and add them to a queue. Fifty wirelessly connected Android devices form a cloud-like display, showing generative animations that respond in real time to the sound, which is audible via 8 wireless headsets.
